About The Position

We are looking for a talented Packaging Engineer- Senior to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Corporate organization in Seymour, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Drive effective packaging and container system designs by applying specialized engineering expertise throughout the full product lifecycle.
Collaborate cross-functionally and with customers/suppliers to define clear design requirements for expendable and returnable packaging solutions.
Identify and implement improvements that enhance packaging quality, reduce total cost, and minimize waste in alignment with organizational goals.
Determine optimal returnable container fleet sizing through coordination with logistics, inventory, and operations teams.
Develop site‑specific packaging requirements that align with Cummins Global Packaging Standards, safety guidelines, storage needs, and line‑side presentation requirements.
Ensure supplier adherence to packaging specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements for both inbound and outbound shipments.
Support Indirect Purchasing by providing technical guidance during packaging procurement initiatives to ensure cost‑effective, compliant solutions.
Leverage strong business acumen and continuous development to drive sound decision‑making, cost‑based analysis, and consistent operational results.
