About The Position

We're looking for an experienced Packaging Designer available for overflow support on an as-needed basis. This is not a consistent weekly contract — work will come in project by project, typically in 5–15 hour bursts, when the internal team needs an extra hand. The ideal candidate is someone who can jump in quickly, work independently, and deliver polished packaging work with minimal ramp-up time.

Contract Details
Rate: $50-57/hr
Contract: 2-3 months to start with opportunity to extend
Hours: As needed ad-hoc, but shouldn't expect more than 10-15 hrs in a week when project volume is high. We're targeting 50-60 total hours for the initial contract
Location: Remote, but availability during EST hours when supporting the projects

Requirements

• Packaging-heavy portfolio is a must — we're looking for multiple packaging projects across your body of work, not a designer who has done it once or twice
• Experience with premium or consumer lifestyle brands
• Strong understanding of packaging production processes and print specs
• Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal direction
• Comfortable with ambiguity — work volume will vary and is not guaranteed week-to-week
• EST availability

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with designing for a 35–50 year old consumer demographic a plus

Responsibilities

• Adapting and refining packaging templates across existing product lines
• Designing packaging from scratch for new product launches
• Creating packaging elements including boxes, hang tags, sleeves, instruction manuals, and safety sheets
• Ensuring designs meet regulatory requirements and brand standards
• Collaborating with the project manager and Creative Director as needed
