Packaging Clerk - 1st Shift

In this role, you’ll help build and assemble various shipping and packaging components—like pallets, racks, crates, and containers—to precise specifications. Requirements

Prior experience in wood framing, packaging, or manufacturing (minimum 1 year preferred)
Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety rules, and measurements
Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)
Good verbal communication and teamwork skills
Ability to interpret diagrams, schedules, or verbal instructions
Regular standing, walking, and use of hands and arms
Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 40 lbs
Frequent exposure to loud machinery and moving mechanical parts
Ability to wear required PPE and remain alert in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Safely operate tools and equipment, including a chop saw, in accordance with company procedures
Measure and cut framing wood to order specifications
Assemble wood frames and attach components using nails and other fasteners
Build and secure packaging structures such as racks, pallets, corrugated tubes, and Gaylord containers
Apply labels and prepare packaging for shipment
Band/strap completed packages for secure transport
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Report any equipment, tooling, or quality issues to your supervisor
Accurately complete production and labor tracking paperwork
Support other departments or take on additional responsibilities as needed
