Packaging Clerk 1

Description The Packaging Clerk matches and confirms final ear molds to box tags and shipping addresses, prints invoices, and finalizes shipping transactions. They also add accessories for each style and ensure any other required documentation is included with the shipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Stocking, including making boxes, folding bags, cutting labels, and preparing a variety of materials to ensure stock is available to ship orders. Reading box tags, identifying ear mold styles, and distinguishing between right v. left ear molds. Reading and matching addresses across display screens as well as between documents. Researching and interpreting order form information and other technical information to ensure that the correct product is packaged and shipped to the correct customer. Required to alternate between proactive and reactive projects – for example, may spend time on stocking activities followed closely by fast-paced packaging and shipping activities to meet Lab demands. Willing to work in Order Entry or other administrative areas on an as-needed basis. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience. Temporary or contract agency, if used, will confirm and maintain records of education and experience. PC experience, including Windows, order processing systems, and familiarity with Internet interfaces. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and pay attention to detail, and minimal errors in the output. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. Experience with packaging/shipping preferred but not required. Experience with FedEx, Endicia, and/or Firefly preferred but not required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able to read and write numbers accurately while maintaining production rates. Must regularly use arms and hands and reach overhead. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Ability to deliver orders within the same building and between buildings regularly. Lift up to 25 pounds intermittently Able to carry/lift bags of completed orders up and down stairs at least once per day.
