About The Position

The mission for this position is to maintain inventory at appropriate levels through the issuance of purchase orders and ensuring timely arrival of packaging materials to support plant operations. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a Business or Social Science (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
  • 2–3 years of buying experience. Any combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Forklift Certified – tests to be given upon employment with Stahlbush Island Farms Inc.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants with purchasing knowledge of packaging materials, food-grade supplies, labels, cartons, film, or related packaging components preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate stock
  • Manage purchase orders
  • Monitor and follow up with vendors on past-due orders
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors in coordination with the accounts payable department.
  • Review stocking levels for assigned packaging materials and place requisitions and purchase orders to appropriately stock packaging and warehouse inventory.
  • Work with packaging specifications, material requirements, and item numbers to properly identify and order required packaging supplies.
  • Enter data into the inventory system, working with packaging specifications, research, and item identification.
  • Order fulfillment and coding of packaging materials
  • Schedule deliveries to support production, plant, and warehouse departmental needs.
  • Process requisitions daily.
  • Process goods received daily.
  • Evaluate inventory reports for packaging materials.
  • Process packaging material returns, credits, and vendor claims as applicable.
  • Contact vendors regarding discrepancies related to quantity, quality, or specifications of packaging materials.
  • Provide excellent internal customer service to production, warehouse, and operations teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position has been identified as holding responsibility for food safety and quality of the company. This responsibility extends over all shifts.
