About The Position

The individual responsible for this role will participate in the production and/or packaging processes of various manufactured products. The Packaging Picker/Putaway position serves as a supportive role for multiple areas within the distribution process, which may include quality control and assembly, among others. NOTE: Candidate require Order Picker PIT equipment experience

Requirements

  • Preferred: High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification; 2 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience operating Material Handling Equipment - Forklift, Hand Truck, Pallet Jack, Reach Truck, etc.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of following instructions and responding to management direction.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exhibits experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Has the ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Possesses effective verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Carry out packaging operations in accordance with customer orders.
  • Ensure timely completion of packaging picking orders within the required deadline.
  • Clean the work area thoroughly at the end of each shift.
  • Manually load bags and cartons onto pallets as necessary.
  • Perform various production duties, including manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling, and sorting.
  • Utilize a forklift and bin system to move products.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including RF devices, label machines, weight scales, and powered equipment such as forklifts, pickers, or pallet jacks.
  • Safely and promptly load items onto material handling equipment.
  • Verify the quantity on labels to ensure accuracy.
  • Notify the supervisor of any shortages identified.
  • Maintain an adequate stock of products in the work area.
  • Organize work orders and verify their accuracy in relation to the labeled items.
  • Read work orders and confirm that the materials pulled for packaging match the requirements specified.
  • Verify that all numbers align with the information in the work order.
  • Adjust work orders as necessary when there is a shortage of materials, based on the work order instructions.
  • Participate in a collaborative work environment utilizing effective communication and willingness to cross train to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development.
  • Comply with comprehensive safety protocols and participate in ongoing training to ensure a secure work environment and maintain a safety-conscious culture.
  • Follow all 5S principles and guidelines daily to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work environment.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management.
