About The Position

We are seeking individuals that want to advance their career and join our great team. Immediately Hiring Packers! Entry level, Some Manufacturing experience preferred! All Packaging Associates work on a rotating schedule with every other weekend off. Shifts available are below: Night Shift Schedule: 6:30pm - 6:30am, 7:00pm - 7:00am. The packer's primary responsibility is to support the manufacturing group by preparing boxes to be loaded, visually inspecting product, loading product, and stacking finished cases in a way that ensures efficient, quality-oriented production. Additional responsibilities include general housekeeping of the work area and other duties as assigned. Your role is critical to the success of the line and the team. Each line has a target goal, and the achievement of these targets ensures we cover our planned costs and help us to achieve profitability each year. Requirements

  • Must be able to stand approximately 10 hours and 50 minutes of a 12-hour shift.
  • Good eyesight is essential for constant inspection of product.
  • Frequent walking is required.
  • Bending is frequently required when making boxes.
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds is required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as working with others effectively as a part of a team.
  • Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Some manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Seek to understand and support a safety culture and workplace.
  • Remain aware of surroundings and obtain knowledge of all required PPE for the job.
  • Responsible for following all required safety procedures for each task you do.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Report any safety concern, risk, hazard, near miss, or injury immediately to the appropriate supervision on shift.
  • Follow all GMP guidelines required by the site and for each work station.
  • Inspect all product passing through the workstation for any possible defects or product concerns.
  • Report any concerns on quality of product immediately to appropriate supervision on shift.
  • Construct empty boxes at a rate sufficient to maintain production on assigned machine running at standard rate.
  • Properly palletize finished product at a rate sufficient to maintain production and ready product for transportation.
  • Inspect product being manufactured to ensure the various visual quality parameters of the product produced are within acceptable limits and quickly notify the Operator and/or Supervisor of any quality issues.
  • Perform general housekeeping of manufacturing areas and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient and contamination free work area.
  • Assist the operators as required in routine start-up and shut down procedures and changing packing materials from one product to another.
  • Salvage and re-pack product that is either damaged or otherwise does not meet quality requirements.
  • Grind defective product and keep trash and regrind separate.
  • Work at any packing position available including other areas and/or departments in the plant as workload and customer requirements demand.
  • Work overtime when needed.
  • Promptly inform supervisor of any issues concerning safety, health, hygiene, quality and efficiencies.
  • Perform other tasks within the plant as assigned by the supervisor or group leader.
