About The Position

Come join our growing team! The Laredo Distribution Center, a 187,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7; is currently seeking a Packaging Admin to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for safely operating the machines at the highest possible efficiency while tracking production and scrap. They are responsible for keeping the area clean and organized as well as effectively communicating any problems with the machines, product or the department to the shift supervisor. This position may also require crossover training within the department. Primary Responsibilities: Start up, changeovers, and shutting down of packaging machines Responsible for supporting the operation and basic mechanical maintenance of assigned packaging line(s) Effectively and efficiently set up labeler and identifying quality issues Perform minor adjustments to packaging machinery under the supervision of production lead, production supervisor, and/or maintenance Completion of production and equipment documentation as assigned Routine preventive maintenance of equipment to include basic mechanical preventive inspections Conduct maintenance visual inspections and machine lubrication as required by the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Periodic documentation and completion of PM and operation specification checklists at the line. Perform Quality checks on assigned packaging machine(s) Maintain safety, quality and production standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years packaging machine operation experience that includes: multi-head scales, wrappers machines, printers & labelers
  • Industrial packaging machine operating experience required.
  • Food and/or beverage machine operation experience required
  • Detail oriented to be able to understand and quickly correct deviations in the process according to system design and upper and lower control limits.
  • Basic mathematic skills used for adjustments on machinery
  • Maintain machine operations at a high level, to ensure production line goals are met
  • Team player driven to succeed in a flexible fast-paced environment.
  • Complete background check and drug screening
