What You’ll Do As a Packager Non-Bonotto, you’ll be part of our Decorah Operations team located in Decorah, IA you’ll get to: Set up and run packaging equipment to meet customers and Decorah Operations’ specifications. Responsibilities

  • Set up and run packaging equipment to meet customers and Decorah Operations’ specifications.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Must be able to set up and operate all packaging equipment.
  • Must be able shipping system to determine proper carton according to customer requirements.
  • Print proper label.
  • Knowledge of box and label sizes and styles.
  • Knowledge of customer driven specifications.
  • Must be able to use a personal computer to navigate Manufacturing System.
  • Basic parts identification.
  • Material handling equipment.
  • Procedure manual location and contents
  • Prioritize activities to maximize efficiencies.
  • Recognize acceptable quality level of product.
  • Recognize unsafe condition or act and reports to supervisor immediately.
  • Recognize maintenance problems with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to recognize situations requiring extra assistance.
  • Recognize acceptable supply inventory.
  • Follows all company safety procedures and reports any safety hazards or violations to leadperson or supervisor.
  • Ensures machines and work area are neat and orderly.
  • Observes machine and reports maintenance problems to supervisor or leadperson.
  • Makes minor repairs and assists Maintenance department with major repairs.
  • Completes paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Sets up and runs machines to full capability.
  • Works productively throughout shift.
  • Assists in other areas as required.
  • Performs duties as requested by the supervisor or leadperson.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed.
  • Selects and uses proper box size and style.
  • Records log information neatly and accurately.
  • Reports quality concerns promptly to necessary personnel.
  • Accuracy of box quantities.
  • Proper label on boxes.
  • Communicates and cooperates with co-workers.
  • Accepts job assignments and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Attend team meetings and follow team guidelines.
  • Works with shipping clerks to meet company service level.
  • Adheres to the Company’s attendance policy.
  • Starts work when scheduled shift begins.
  • Follows Company’s overtime policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Must be available to work overtime.
