About The Position

New Job Opening! Klondike Cheese Co. is searching for a Packager to join our Team! $1,000 Sign on Bonus! Position Purpose: To clean and sanitize production machinery, equipment, work areas and the facility according to Company and other required standards. Will also assist with packaging duties as needed prior to cleanup.

Requirements

  • Oral Comprehension & Expression — The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, and the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Standing 80%, walking 20%, lifting maximum of 50 lbs., bending 20%, reaching 40%, reaching above shoulder 10%, pushing less than 5%, lifting up to 5 lbs. 15%, lifting 6 – 10 lbs. 20%, lifting 21 – 25 lbs. 20%, lifting 26 – 50 lbs. 15%, lifting over 50 lbs. 1%.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize detergents, sanitizers, brushes and high-pressure hose to clean production equipment and rooms in assigned area.
  • Measure, weigh, or mix cleaning solutions, using measuring tanks, calibrated rods or suction tubes.
  • Observe machine operations, gauges, or thermometers, and adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
  • Set controls to regulate temperature and length of cycles, and start conveyors, pumps, agitators, and machines.
  • Drain, clean, and refill machines or tanks at designated intervals, using cleaning solutions or water.
  • Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, and crouching during long periods of time. The sanitation worker is required to work in an environment that is wet, humid and warm.
  • Communicate and work effectively with other Sanitation personnel and Supervisor.
  • Must adhere to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and HACCP pre-requisite programs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines or Federal regulations.
  • Frequently lift/move hoses and related equipment throughout every work shift.
  • Exposure to and use of chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear).
  • Assist in the operation of production lines as needed, including operating or tending machines.
  • Other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager, which may include assisting with packaging duties.
