About The Position

Alphanumeric is hiring a PACKAGED EQUIPMENT ENGINEER - level 3 to work in Lake Mary, FL with an environmental-friendly energy innovator focused on sustainability. Pay Range: $100 - $125K The mechanical systems engineering group is responsible for the following major systems: Lube Oil Unit & Oil Mist Separator Control Oil Unit & Control Oil Cleaning Unit Compressor Blade Washing Unit Heat Exchangers, Including the Turbine Cooling Air Cooler, 2C Cooler, 4S Cooler, ECA Cooler, Fuel Gas Heater, FG Dew Point Heater, Closed Cooling Water Coolers Fuel Gas Conditioning Equipment (Filter/Separators, Scrubbers, Filters) GT and Auxiliary Enclosures Heating, Ventilation Enhanced Cooling Air Equipment (Compressor and Drain Mist Separator) Fire Fighting Systems GT Modular Enclosures

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Engineering required. Masters is desirable.
Minimum eight (8) years of technical experience required.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English language.
Ability to write, in English language, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Acrobat Writer, Excel, etc.).
Knowledge of database, project management, graphics, technical diagrams, flow-charts, etc.

Nice To Haves

Preference is experience with heat exchangers/vessels (Shell and Tube, and Air Cooled Exchangers).
Power Plant, Japan-related or other International business experience is a plus.
The preferred type of engineer for this position will come from the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) world or heat exchanger manufacturing, and be very familiar with the ASME code, CSA code, API standards and TEMA standards.
Engineer should also have experience using heat transfer equipment design software such as HTRI.
Someone that has some manufacturing and/or field troubleshooting experience is desired.
The engineer should have both thermal and mechanical design experience with heat exchangers (shell and tube, and air coolers).
Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese language skills are not mandatory, but beneficial.

Responsibilities

Interpret P&IDs and other technical material to develop system project requirements
Prepare supporting calculations needed to ensure proper sizing of equipment
Prepare inquiry and purchase specifications for mechanical equipment
Provide technical recommendation of vendor
Review of vendor designs to ensure compliance with code, contract and internal requirements
Ensure arrangement and foundation interface information meets requirements
Technical qualification of vendors
Specification and analysis of test results.
Development of standard drawings and specifications
Development of design improvements
Develop and Adhere to schedule for engineering deliverables
Meet regularly with vendors to ensure all technical and schedule requirements are being met.
Interpret and respond to technical inquiries from customer, vendors and field personnel.
Interpret and integrate design requirements from parent company.
Establish processes and procedures that will ensure an effective and optimized use of resources while providing high quality design packages.
Develop concepts to reduce system costs.
Ensure that code requirements are correctly defined and incorporated into the system design and reflected as vendor requirements.
Provide regular status updates to management
Interpret end customer contract technical requirements and ensure incorporation into the system design.
Establish corrective actions to reduce nonconformance and improve quality.
Preparation of correspondence to vendors and other engineering groups
Generate ideas for product development.
Proactively improve tools, processes and procedures of the Engineering team.
