About The Position

The Package Handler at FedEx Supply Chain is responsible for efficiently loading and unloading packages onto or from trailers, ensuring safety and productivity. This role involves physical tasks such as scanning, lifting, and carrying packages weighing up to 100 pounds, while adhering to safety protocols and productivity metrics. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, and 0-2 years of related experience.
• Ability to use PC and/or RF-based computer systems to perform tasks.
• Knowledge of loading/unloading trailers preferred.
• Knowledge of FedEx shipping software including PScan preferred.
• Knowledge of NASCR cafe system (labeling system) preferred.
• Exhibit promptness and attention to detail.
• Contribute to a safe working environment.
• Complete assigned tasks in a reasonable amount of time with a high level of accuracy.
• May require Dangerous Goods certification and preparation of shipments per Dangerous Goods requirements.
• Required to obtain Load - T-stacking certification.
• Required to obtain CAN inspection certification.
• Customer service driven.
• Strong team player.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages onto/off of appropriate trailers by scanning, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling packages up to 100 lbs.
• Read labels, verify numbers, and carry out work instructions while achieving required productivity metrics.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks including sweeping, unpacking, and detrashing of vehicles and/or shipments.
• Attend safety meetings and notify management of any unsafe working conditions.
• Assist in the orientation of new hire package handlers as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
