The Package Center Warehouse Specialist plays a critical role in supporting warehouse and package center operations by safely receiving, moving, staging, and distributing mail and packages. This position is responsible for operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts, in compliance with all safety guidelines to ensure the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility. The role requires accurate documentation of shipments, proper handling of materials, and close coordination with carriers, vendors, and internal teams. The Package Center Warehouse Specialist maintains inventory accuracy, supports warehouse organization, and adheres strictly to safety, security, and compliance standards. This position requires forklift certification, attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Essential duties include, but not limited to: Acccurately inspect, receive, and document incoming mail and packages at the warehouse, ensuring shipments match purchase orders, delivery schedules, and internal records. Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse material-handling equipment to load, unload, move, stage, and store pallets, packages, and materials in accordance with established safety guidelines. Maintain current forklift certification and comply with all warehouse safety, OSHA, and operational procedures at all times. Collect inbound packages from docks, conveyor systems, staging areas, and designated intake locations, and transport materials to appropriate storage, staging, or distribution areas. Identify, inspect, and properly handle fragile items, refrigerated medications, food, and other perishable materials in accordance with handling and safety requirements. Reject, process, or escalate damaged, tampered, misaddressed, or non-compliant packages per established company protocol, reporting discrepancies promptly to the supervisor. Operate and monitor warehouse equipment, including conveyor systems, performing routine inspections, basic troubleshooting, and manual processing of oversized, undersized, unlabeled, or misrouted packages. Sort, organize, and stage packages by delivery route, priority, and department, separating business-critical shipments and notifying the supervisor immediately upon receipt. Research unidentified packages and maintain accurate inventory, shipment, and transfer records using designated software systems. Pack, label, and prepare outgoing shipments; coordinate with courier services and vendors to ensure timely and accurate dispatch. Track and manage inventory levels of shipping materials, office supplies, IT equipment, and warehouse stock, reporting shortages or discrepancies as needed. Liaise with vendors, couriers, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues and maintain service standards. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of all warehouse, dock, and staging areas, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and housekeeping standards. Assist with equipment moves, office relocations, warehouse projects, and complete basic maintenance or operational assignments as directed by the immediate supervisor.
