About The Position

The Package Center Locker Technician plays a key role in managing the flow of incoming packages with a primary focus on smart locker operations within the package center. This position ensures packages are accurately logged, processed, loaded into lockers, and made available for pickup in a timely and secure manner. The role includes monitoring locker capacity and functionality, coordinating with warehouse staff and external carriers, maintaining accurate records, and supporting overall package center and office logistics. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, well organized, technically capable, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with shipping logistics software, Microsoft Office Suite including, Access, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or inventory management, ideally in a corporate or office setting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; problem solving ability.
  • Basic knowledge of standard janitorial duties, cleaning techniques, products and equipment preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot common maintenance issues and coordinate specialized services when necessary.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, maintain a positive attitude at all times, and be able to assist the team/department to complete goals.
  • Ability to react quickly and appropriately under pressure in emergency situations with a cool head and professionalism.
  • A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and enhancing customer experience.
  • Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job site.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CA Driver’s License and clean MVR.
  • High school diploma/GED required OR equivalent work experience in leiu of.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to communicate clearly with employees, visitors, delivery partners, supervisors, and coworkers, and to accurately complete system-based documentation and follow written procedures.
  • Must be able to operate hand tools appropriate to the application.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Extensive use of hands, reaching over and bending.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work in varying temperature environments (internal and external parts of the building).
  • PLEASE NOTE: Due to the cyclical nature of the industry, team members are required to work varying shifts and schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, which reflect the Company's operating requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Load packages into smart lockers promptly upon receipt, assigning appropriate locker locations and ensuring accurate system tracking and availability.
  • Conduct daily inspections of locker systems and surrounding areas, reporting technical issues, malfunctions, or capacity constraints to the supervisor or appropriate support teams.
  • Monitor locker capacity throughout the day and optimize usage by reassigning lockers, relocating packages to shelving, and managing expired or overdue locker items in accordance with policy.
  • Remove expired or unclaimed locker packages and return them to the package center for shelving, return-to-sender, or donation processing as required.
  • Collect inbound packages from lobbies, outdoor containers, conveyor systems, and surrounding areas, and stage items for locker loading or distribution.
  • Identify, inspect, and properly handle fragile items, refrigerated medications, food, and other perishable materials in accordance with handling and safety procedures.
  • Reject, process, or escalate damaged, tampered, misaddressed, or non-compliant packages per established protocol and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Operate package center equipment, including conveyor systems, by performing inspections, loading, monitoring operations, troubleshooting basic issues, and manually processing oversized, undersized, unlabeled, or misrouted packages.
  • Research unidentified packages and update inventory and shipment records using designated software systems, maintaining accurate documentation of receipts and transfers.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff, couriers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery, accurate routing, and resolution of package-related issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of locker units, package center areas, and workspaces in compliance with safety and security standards.
  • Support special projects, office relocations, equipment moves, and complete basic maintenance or operational assignments as directed by the immediate supervisor.
