About The Position

Kraft Heinz in Cedar Rapids is looking for candidates that want to make great soups! This role is for a highly skilled operator, capable of being flexible and working in multiple different positions as required from day to day. The operator should have solid knowledge of bag prep, spice, hand pre-weigh and all products’ requirements, and be able to identify any quality concerns with the ingredients, allergen labeling or cleans/changeovers. The Cedar Rapids plant operates on a 3-shift basis, is a non-union facility with approximately 200 hourly staff members (a mix of temporary and full-time associates), and is 100% dedicated to Food Service, featuring 4 bag soup lines, 1 tub line, 18 Kettles, 5 Filling lines, and 4 packaging lines, producing Frozen Soups and Macaroni & Cheese. The company's history in Cedar Rapids began as Ashby Soups in the mid-1980s, later becoming Quality Chef Foods, acquired by Heinz, and eventually merging into Kraft Heinz in 2015. The Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area, known as the cultural corridor, offers numerous activities, sites, and shows, along with an easy commute, great school communities, low crime rates, bike-friendly environments, and a good cost of living. Requirements

Responsible for following all Food Safety Policies and Safety Procedures
Responsible for Q-RMP standards implementation as defined by the accountability list document
Solid knowledge of bag prep, spice, hand pre-weigh and all products’ requirements
Capable of being flexible and working in multiple different positions as required from day to day
Identify any quality concerns with the ingredients, allergen labeling or cleans/changeovers

Responsibilities

Pack soup
Load cases into Wexxar
Verify bag and case print
Operate Icontech GFS (inners, taping, stickering)
Load totes into tote dumper
Complete all required documentation / IQS Entries
Quality (verify product quality, date codes, weight distribution, seal integrity, label verification, case quality)
Safety (follow all required safe work practices—ie: PPE, JSA)
Follow all Food Safety Policies and Safety Procedures
Responsible for Q-RMP standards implementation as defined by the accountability list document
Follow all safety protocols and perform their job responsibilities in a safe manner
Always perform to the highest level of competence
