About The Position

This is an exempt level position. Position Summary: This key operational role is responsible for supervising operations at a Bakery Mix Facility. The Shift Supervisor is responsible of all Dry mix, Wet mix, Warehousing, Maintenance aspects of the plant on 2rd shift. The Shift Supervisor will provide leadership support for all other operational departments on the off shift as needed. The ideal candidate sets and maintains ADMs high standards for safety and quality for all departments while maintaining production and efficiency excellence. Successful candidates will be good communicators who can nurture outstanding interdepartmental, commercial and customer relationships. They will have the ability to identify and decisively solve problems as they arise and maintain records in accordance with established ADM policies. The Shift Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and has approximately 6-8 indirect reports.

  • Must have a strong commitment to colleague safety
  • Require excellent command of the following: leadership, problem solving, self-motivation, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must have a confident and courteous manner.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly, read, comprehend and communicate orally and in writing.
  • Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces, and working within extreme temperatures.

Nice To Haves

  • Strongly prefer at least 2 years of plant experience; previous bulk loading and packaging experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Health, Safety & Environmental: Facilitate and ensure adherence to safety laws, regulations, rules and sound practices.
  • Coordinate and participate in audits, prioritizing and tracking completion of findings.
  • Proactive address and correct unsafe behavior and conditions.
  • Maintain the necessary health, safety & environmental records and documentation.
  • Encourage colleague engagement in safety.
  • Perform Safety audits and set the example for safety.
  • Sanitation/Food Safety: Ensure the facility maintains world class sanitation standards.
  • Communicate food safety/sanitation/quality programs to hourly colleagues.
  • Correct and proactively address quality issues in the plant.
  • Prepare the facility for, and participate in, regulatory/third party/customer/company audits.
  • Production: Reduce or eliminate production barriers.
  • Manage efforts to reduce or eliminate waste.
  • Proactively lead and support Performance Excellence initiatives.
  • Provide technical knowledge for processes and equipment to obtain performance.
  • Utilize production colleagues and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to execute the production plan.

  • a minimum of 64 hours of vacation per year, which will increase as years of service increases, 48 hours of lost-time allowance will be provided annually to eligible colleagues on January 1, 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and 1 personal holiday through the calendar year for colleagues with at least 6 months of continuous service.
