About The Position

The Manager of Regional Programs at the Bill of Rights Institute will focus on building partnerships and managing relationships with school districts and educators in the Pacific Northwest. This role is essential for advancing civic education initiatives and requires a commitment to transforming education through collaboration and outreach. The position involves significant travel and engagement with various stakeholders to promote the Institute's resources and programs.

Requirements

  • Must live in an urban area in the Pacific Northwest, preferably in Washington near a major airport.
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience as a classroom teacher or in the education field, preferably in charter, private, or classical schools.
  • Proven experience in cultivating and managing relationships with school districts, educators, and educational organizations.
  • Strong business development skills with a track record of identifying and pursuing educational partnership opportunities.
  • Experience in developing fee-for-service work and/or a background in fundraising is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of educational trends, curriculum standards, and pedagogical strategies in social studies education preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, capable of juggling multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • A willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours as needed to fulfill the demands of the role.
  • Deep commitment to constitutional principles and robust civic education.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with school districts and educators in the Pacific Northwest to facilitate collaboration and support the adoption of resources from the Bill of Rights Institute.
  • Oversee the management of school and district relationships from initial engagement through program completion, ensuring satisfaction and successful outcomes.
  • Allocate 30% of your schedule to travel, engaging with stakeholders, attending conferences, and conducting outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the Pacific Northwest to identify and cultivate leads for program and fee-for-service opportunities.
  • Initiate and oversee partnerships in the Pacific Northwest with state social studies councils, historical societies, museums, and other civic education organizations to broaden outreach and impact.
  • Represent the Bill of Rights Institute at social studies conferences in the Pacific Northwest, promoting awareness and fostering connections that may lead to partnerships and programs.
  • Conduct market research and outreach within the Pacific Northwest to compile lists of potential partnership prospects.
  • Monitor and manage program budgets, collaborating with the Development team to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with financial requirements.
  • Provide leadership in delivering professional development sessions for classroom teachers, emphasizing the effective use of resources from the Bill of Rights Institute.
  • Work with other members of the Programs Team to design and implement programs.
