About The Position

In the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, as a limited duration employee, performs one or more of a variety of tasks and assigned duties of a seasonal nature. Positions available include Maintainers and Park Rangers/Campground staff, needed mid-April through mid-October, including weekends, not exceeding 1,030 hours total. Park Rangers/Campground staff are needed mid-April through Columbus Day and require night, weekend, and holiday work.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Fluency in English for Park Ranger/Campground staff.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in custodial work, landscaping, or a related skilled trade for Maintainers.
• Experience with outdoor recreation facility operations, retail, and/or customer service for Park Ranger/Campground staff.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and operation of DEEP managed lands and facilities including litter pickup, cleaning, mowing, raking, and painting.
• Use hand tools and may direct traffic in parking lots.
• Drive vehicles rated at 3/4 Ton Gross Vehicle Weight or less.
• Interact with the public to assist them in the safe and orderly enjoyment of the park.
• Assist with operational, maintenance, and protective duties as needed.
• Provide general campground support services including registering campers and checking in reservations.
• Clean restrooms, fire pits, grills, and perform other light maintenance tasks throughout campgrounds and forest.
