About The Position

Elderhaus, PACE in Wilmington NC is seeking a dependable, safety‑minded Transportation Driver to provide timely and compassionate transportation for our participants. This role plays an essential part in ensuring participants can access medical care, activities, services, and needed items—contributing directly to their safety, independence, and quality of life.

Requirements

Successful completion of a defensive driving course within four (4) months of hire.
Current CPR certification.
Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up‑to‑date immunizations prior to participant contact.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must have a valid driver’s license, personal transportation, and proof of insurance.
Must meet auto insurance carrier coverage requirements (minimum age 23).

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with frail or elderly individuals preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely and promptly transport PACE participants to and from the Center, medical appointments, and scheduled activities.
Transport meals, medical equipment, pharmacy items, and other necessary materials as assigned.
Maintain daily vehicle cleanliness, safety standards, and required documentation.
Report any safety concerns, mechanical issues, or unusual occurrences to the Transportation Coordinator immediately.
Uphold all federal, state, and local regulations and PACE standards to ensure high‑quality service and participant safety.
