About The Position

UPMC Bayfront Digestive Disease is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to join their team. This position is 100% inpatient Gastroenterology, located at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA. The department consists of 5 physicians and 11 full-time APPs, with one part-time APP. The role involves primarily outpatient office work with periodic inpatient rounding in the hospital. The successful candidate will report to an APP Supervisor and will be part of a team that sees all GI-related illnesses and complaints. UPMC Hamot is a Level II Trauma Center with 445 beds and is one of two hospitals in the greater Erie area that performs ERCP.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately with the patients served.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
  • Provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience.
  • Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting.
