About The Position

UPMC's Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to join our Vascular Surgery team. This position is for a Full-Time Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (Acute Care) or Physician Assistant at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. The schedule consists of Monday through Friday, with 4 days of 10-hour shifts. Responsibilities include approximately 50% hospital rounding and 50% outpatient clinic. The role emphasizes a supportive environment, professional growth, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with current state license.
  • Completion of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience or completion of a post-graduate residency for senior level.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles over the lifespan.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN, MSN preferred for CRNP; BS or MS preferred for PA.
  • Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience.
  • Experience in a clinical setting as a physician assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment and collaboration with team members.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and effective communication in all areas of professional practice.
  • Formulate care plans that consider individual patient needs.
  • Engage in clinical development of all healthcare team members.
  • Identify patient and family needs for education and provide necessary support.
  • Demonstrate accountability for professional development and quality of patient care.
  • Participate in task forces or initiatives to improve clinical care.
