About The Position

Join a dedicated team of critical care physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to enhance the health of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. This dual role encompasses responsibilities in the ICU and the transport of critically ill children, requiring medical expertise, procedural skills, and collaboration with various specialties. The position involves performing assessments, diagnosing conditions, initiating care plans, and providing educational support to patients, families, and medical learners. Additionally, the APP will contribute to the HDVCH blood management program aimed at reducing blood transfusions through iron replacement and Epoetin administration. The Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team, consisting of APPs, Registered Nurses, and Respiratory Therapists, plays a vital role in delivering specialized pre-hospital care for safe ground transfers of pediatric patients across Michigan to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
  • 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the State of Michigan.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Experience in a collaborative role as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Provide critical care in a 24-bed ICU unit.
  • Transport critically ill children safely between facilities.

  • Collaborate with multiple subspecialties to ensure comprehensive care.
