About this role: The Thoracic Surgery APP provides advanced clinical support to dedicated thoracic (non cardiac) surgeons in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care of thoracic surgery patients. The APP works as a highly valued and integral member of the team that performs surgical first assist duties, manages perioperative care, and ensures safe and effective patient outcomes in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will be joining an established group with 3 dedicated general thoracic surgeons and 5 experienced APPs at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, a level-1 trauma center; providing comprehensive thoracic surgical care. Call is 1:5 nights, weekends and is backed up by the surgeons. The practice, and the Cardiovascular department, use a team-based approach to deliver high-quality, nationally recognized care. You will split your time assisting in the OR, working in a hospital inpatient setting (rounding and consultation) as well as in the outpatient clinic setting with the opportunity to participate in the evaluation and postoperative care of these patients. This wide range of experiences will help you develop new skills and understand how to care for Thoracic surgical patients during all phases of their journey.
