About The Position
Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group has Per Diem opportunities for AGACNP's/PA-C's with specialization in Gastroenterology to join their growing employed physician group on the West Coast of Florida. Sarasota is located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa. The area is known for the arts, great restaurants, world-class beaches, excellent schools, and a wide variety of activities for all ages. Our Gastroenterology practice was developed in 2020 and has quickly expanded to eight (8) Board-Certified Gastroenterologists, four (4) Advanced Gastroenterologists, and 13 Advanced Practice Providers caring for the communities of SMH-Sarasota and SMH-Venice hospital . Perform physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of patients with GI related conditions in the hospital. Weekend coverage -10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Physician Assistant (PA) reflects the mission, vision, and values of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and other regulatory and accreditation standards. The PA I typically work in an outpatient clinic or area with set hours (i.e., PAT, Employee Health). A PA is a graduate with a master’s degree or certificate from an accredited physician assistant program at an accredited school or college. The PA functions as part of the multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high-quality, cost-effective advanced care to patients. The PA is licensed by the Florida Board of Medicine and the Board of Osteopathic Medicine to perform medical services delegated by the supervising physician(s).
Requirements
- Current NCCPA or ANCC certification required and must also have an active license by the State of Florida by the time of hire.
- Board Certified Physician Assistant, Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who has active, relevant and routine experience in 2 of the last 4 years (defined as at least 500 acute care inpatient encounters over two years).
- Board Certified Adult/Family Nurse Practitioner , who has active, relevant, and routine experience in 2 of the last 4 years (defined as at least 1,000 acute care inpatient encounters over two years).
- BLS required.
- Require current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Require bachelor degree from accredited physician assistant training program.
