About The Position

The Trauma/Acute Care Physician Assistant position at UPMC North Central PA involves providing comprehensive care in the Level 2 Trauma Department. Requirements

• PA-C certification.
• Current PA state licensure.
• Experience in Trauma Surgery or Critical Care.
• Prior experience in an acute care facility.

• Experience with a variety of inpatient and outpatient procedures.
• Familiarity with surgical first assist roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures and assist in surgeries as a first assist in the operating room.
• Conduct inpatient rounding and preoperative assessments.
• Plan and manage post-operative discharge processes.
• Evaluate emergency department trauma patients and develop treatment plans.
• Manage outpatient ACS/trauma patients, including both surgical and non-operative care.
• Provide rotating holiday coverage and flexible scheduling options.
