Printing and Related Support Activities

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Contingent Material Handler in the Packaging and Fulfillment Department to support our team during operational periods. This is a non-benefit eligible position, with a flexible schedule that may include off shifts and weekends. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the role effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

  • Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to determine materials to be moved.
  • Feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets or folded signatures to and from assigned equipment.
  • Load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Load materials into trucks and secure them with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage during transit.
  • Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, or other devices.
  • Count, weigh, and record the number of units moved or handled on daily production sheets.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials, marking information on containers as needed.
  • Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together using banding machines.
  • Occasionally operate automated equipment or industrial trucks/electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials.
  • Basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, and standard warehouse procedures.
  • Familiarity with storage areas to place or pull paper stock, signatures, and materials.
  • Understanding of shrink-wrap equipment and the ability to complete forms related to stock description and labeling requirements.
  • Proficient with material handling tools including manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts, and hand tools (e.g., hammers, pliers, strapping tools).
  • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds continuously.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to understand and respond to verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and safety manuals in English.
