About The Position

Ste Genevieve Du Bois Catholic Church, Warson Woods is seeking a faith-filled, energetic, and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to promote physical wellness, teamwork, and character development within a Christ-centered learning environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students develop healthy habits, sportsmanship, and confidence while supporting the mission of Catholic education. Job ResponsibilitiesThe P.E. Teacher will design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education lessons aligned with state standards. Instruction will focus on building fundamental motor skills, physical fitness, cooperative play, and lifelong wellness practices. The teacher will create a safe, structured, and inclusive environment where all students are encouraged to participate, grow in skill, and demonstrate respect for others. Rooted in Catholic values, the successful candidate will intentionally foster virtues such as integrity, perseverance, self-discipline, and teamwork. The P.E. Teacher will model good sportsmanship and guide students in understanding the importance of caring for their bodies as gifts from God. Supervision during recess, school events, and athletic activities may be included as part of the role. Strong collaboration with faculty, clear communication with families, and active participation in the spiritual life of the school community—including prayer, liturgies, and service initiatives—are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field (required)
  • Valid state teaching certification (required)
  • Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students (preferred)
  • Practicing Catholic preferred
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
