About The Position

As a P&D Driver at Southeastern Freight Lines, you will be responsible for picking up, transporting, and delivering freight locally. This role requires you to be the face of the company, providing excellent customer service while ensuring the safe and compliant handling of cargo, particularly hazardous materials. You will operate a tractor-trailer in various conditions and must adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months driving experience; 1 year preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements for HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers, with no automatic restrictions.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and handle receipts.
• Knowledge of and compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.
• Must meet DOT physical qualifications and pass alcohol and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally.
• Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips.
• Manage the loading and unloading of cargo.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of transport documents, especially for hazardous materials.
• Maneuver in challenging environments such as heavy traffic and tight spaces.
• Report any incidents or delays during transport.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism.
