About The Position

AmericanAg®, a global provider of diversified reinsurance solutions, is seeking a Property & Casualty Insurance Research & Product Development Analyst to work out of our office in Schaumburg, Illinois.  This is a hybrid position, with the expectation of working in the office a minimum of three days a week.  Our Research & Product Development team studies emerging risks, analyzes market trends and competitors’ products, and translates those insights into practical, market-ready insurance solutions. Our work includes drafting and maintaining the coverage forms and endorsements that support the comprehensive, end-to-end products relied upon by our primary insurance carrier clients. The Property & Casualty Insurance Research & Product Development Analyst will support strategic initiatives and product innovation across our P&C portfolio. If you are interested in researching and drafting insurance forms, solving coverage questions, and collaborating across disciplines to turn research into actionable solutions, this role may be for you. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Property and Casualty insurance experience, ideally in an underwriting, product development, or regulatory role; reinsurance experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of insurance product management principles, frameworks, and best practices
  • Experience researching and analyzing competitor products and forms, along with developing and enhancing forms and endorsements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and project management skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels at the company
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to translate findings into clear recommendations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerBI

Nice To Haves

  • Continuing education in insurance certification programs (CPCU, ARe) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducting market research and competitor benchmarking to identify emerging trends, coverage gaps, new product opportunities, and product innovations that align with our strategic growth objectives
  • Developing and preparing comprehensive business use cases and product proposals for new offerings and enhancements
  • Performing detailed competitive market analysis, including forms comparison, product offerings, and competitor rate changes
  • Collaborating with Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Marketing, Contracts, and other stakeholders to design and develop enhancements to our turnkey products
  • Drafting and revising coverage forms, endorsements, and contract language to improve clarity, drive growth, and increase market competitiveness
  • Analyzing datasets related to policy data, claims, and customer demographics to deliver actionable insights that drive product performance
  • Building and maintaining detailed reports and dashboards to track key product KPIs (e.g., loss ratios, customer uptake, profitability)
  • Participating in underwriting file reviews to analyze forms and endorsements, ensuring alignment with treaty language
