The Construction Manager (CM) is accountable for all aspects of Construction Management for assigned capital projects within the E&I business. Reporting to the E&I Global Construction Manager, this role serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for construction execution strategies and field implementation across multiple sites. The CM leads construction execution for capital projects, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations. Success in this role is measured by safety performance, predictable cost and schedule outcomes, and delivery of high-quality facilities. The Construction Manager is expected to manage multiple projects concurrently, supported by E&I leveraged resources. Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Serve as the Owner’s Role Construction Leader in the field, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective project delivery Lead and oversee construction activities for assigned capital projects across multiple plant sites Ensure construction contracting processes are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives Partner with Contractor Construction Management (CM) resources to enable safe and productive field execution Ensure timely and effective construction input during FEL phases to influence execution strategies Challenge and align internal understanding of Owner Construction needs early in the project lifecycle Bring appropriate organizational competencies to bear throughout the end-to-end project process Work with Capital Engineering Leadership and the Global Construction Manager to develop optimal execution strategies for major projects Accountable for development and execution of Project Quality Plans Audit construction work processes and deliverables for compliance with quality requirements Ensure strict adherence to Corporate and Business IP / Trade Secret policies Approve critical lifts and construction safety plans, including hazard reviews and mitigation strategies Implement execution metrics with defined targets and continuous improvement actions Ideal Background Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is highly preferred. Licensing: General Contractors License is highly preferred. Experience: This position requires a minimum 10 years of direct experience as a Construction Manager on major and complex capital projects ranging from $60MM to $200MM Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Broad knowledge of all project disciplines with strong focus on safe execution of high-risk activities Demonstrated success delivering capital projects as a critical construction leader Extensive experience in: Construction Management Project Leadership Contract Administration Expert knowledge of construction contracting strategies and contract management Experience coordinating commissioning and startup activities Proven ability to influence and lead across multiple sites and regions Strong leadership, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Demonstrated excellence in communication, planning, networking, conflict resolution, and decision-making Ability to lead major change initiatives with a bias for action Demonstrates a strong commitment to diversity and inclusive leadership Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time. Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates. Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
