About The Position

H-E-B's Own Brand Partners aim to create an emotional link between the products we make and our Customers, by developing products that equal or surpass national brands--some unique to H-E-B. Our Own Brand Studio Team contributes to that goal by innovating product stories in images. As an Own Brand Photographer you'll create a variety of high-quality photos for consumer-based food packaging, internal marketing initiatives, and other department photography and needs. Requirements

  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in photography, or industry experience
  • Experience working with food stylists
  • Working knowledge of related software / equipment (e.g., Adobe Premier, Capture One, Adobe Photoshop)
  • Working knowledge of latest food-related photography trends
  • Knowledge of H-E-B OB packaging practices, ideology, and general H-E-B convention
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with Manager to create content to support Own Brand initiatives, including packaging, e-commerce, restaurants, in-Store ops, internal marketing, and advertising
  • Works with Manager to develop / fine-tune studio photography skills
  • Captures professional images that creatively consider challenges of working with food and product in all forms
  • Creates unique lighting and composition specific to each project
  • Works with a multitude of props and backgrounds to create unique photo environments to support proper brand positioning
  • Retouches / edits digital content post-production to support brand objectives
  • Maintains / operates studio equipment (e.g., camera, lights, stands)
  • Collaborates with / takes direction cross-functionally (e.g., Designers, Brand Mgrs, Food Stylists, Chefs, Business Dev Mgrs) to understand business needs
  • Adheres to shoot schedules; balances photography needs with post-production / retouching to make best use of time and resources
  • Upholds / enforces Own Brand processes, studio policies, and project prioritization system (Must Win, Must Do, Good Opp, Other Opp)
  • Maintains a current portfolio with ongoing work / training product
  • Stays current on industry techniques and trends
  • Proactively seeks feedback
