DUE TO THE NATURE OF EMERGENCY & SPECIALTY VETERINARY MEDICINE, ONLY CANDIDATES WITH PRIOR VETERINARY EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED. As an Urgent Care Technician, you will:

Requirements

Prior veterinary experience is required
Proficient in drug calculation and strong anesthetic skills
Display competency in general knowledge and nursing skills required to care for patients
Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

previous Veterinary ER or Urgent Care experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Urgent/Emergency Care: Administer medications, perform diagnostic tests (blood work, x-rays), assist in surgeries, and provide post-operative care.
Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs, patient records, and respond to changes or issues.
Emergency Procedures: Provide CPR and other life-saving techniques when necessary.
Patient Handling: Handle and restrain animals safely for examinations and treatments.
Communication: Communicate with pet owners about their animal's condition and treatment plans.
Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, sterilize surgical instruments, and assist with intake and discharge.
Equipment Management: Operate and maintain medical equipment like ventilators and IV pumps.
Triage and Assessment: Conduct initial patient assessments and triage.
Advanced Skills: Experience with anesthetic induction, monitoring, IV catheter placement, and advanced nursing care.
