About The Position

The Overnight Utility Supervisor provides on-site leadership, oversight, and accountability during overnight and weekend hours to ensure smooth operations across Utilities and Maintenance. This role serves as the primary overnight point of contact, ensuring safety, compliance, and continuity for our 24/7 operation.

Requirements

• Supervisory or lead experience in maintenance, utilities, or transit preferred.
• Strong decision-making skills under time-sensitive conditions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and effective communicator.
• Comfortable working nights, weekends, and in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support overnight utility staff, ensuring assignments and schedules are followed.
• Provide direction for urgent operational issues, including vehicle availability, route coverage, and facility needs.
• Deliver clear overnight handoff reports to day-shift management.
• Monitor attendance, call-outs, and coverage gaps; escalate issues as needed.
• Conduct facility and utility spot checks to ensure standards are maintained.
• Support supply and inventory checks as assigned.
• Coordinate urgent maintenance needs with leadership when necessary.
• Work with Dispatch to confirm bus counts and vehicle readiness for morning service.
• Communicate with Maintenance leadership to prioritize vehicles flagged overnight.
• Document all incidents, coverage issues, and operational updates in overnight reports.
• Enforce company policies and safety standards during overnight hours.
• Ensure facilities remain safe, secure, and operational throughout the shift.
• Respond to emergencies (equipment breakdowns, facility issues, coverage gaps) and escalate appropriately.
