PURPOSE OF POSITION: A Security Supervisor at Catholic Charities: Promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values, and Code of Ethics. Models Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all persons with respect and dignity. Use creativity and innovation in service delivery and security management. Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information. Regular and predictable attendance. Oversee the daily operations of the safety and security team at their assigned location. Keeps the Security Manager and Director informed of staff morale, staff resources, and needs, and items impacting safety and security operations. On call for consultation and intervention after hours and during weekends. Will be on a rotating on-call schedule with other leaders. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency’s values and policies, and applicable laws. Duties may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provide leadership, training, and development to team members. Work closely with the leadership team to plan and execute safety improvement initiatives. This includes analyzing reports, reviewing bids, and overseeing the implementation process. Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters at the assigned location, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues. Coordinate with all shelter sites, in partnership with the Manager, to ensure security measures meet their specific needs. Address and resolve requests and complaints regarding safety and security in a timely and satisfactory manner. Ensure the security team is adequately trained and prepared to respond to emergencies. Complete necessary administrative duties (e.g., paperwork) accurately and on time, including the approval of employee timecards, PAL/EIB requests, training requests, HESK tickets etc.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in supervision and security.
  • Experience/knowledge in the safety & security field.
  • Ability to work effectively within the framework of Catholic teachings.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff through the application of Agency values
  • Intermediate knowledge of computers to input information, maintain client and program data, create and generate reports, and create communications.
  • Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
  • Associate's degree (AS/AA) from an accredited college or university in a related field, or 2-4 years of equivalent work experience. A combination of Education and Experience may be considered.
  • Security Guard license from the City/County of Denver or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
