About The Position

The Overnight Resting Caregiver provides a supportive presence in a senior's home overnight, offering peace of mind for clients and their families. This role is primarily a resting shift, but the caregiver must remain available to assist the client as needed during the night. Requirements

  • Experience in senior caregiving or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately if assistance is needed.
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding of aging-related challenges (dementia, mobility issues, incontinence).
  • Reliable, professional, and trustworthy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must pass background checks and meet state caregiving requirements.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for driving-based shifts)
  • The caregiver will have resting periods but must be alert and available if the client requires assistance.
  • Light physical activity may be required (helping with transfers, repositioning, or assisting with personal care).
  • Work takes place in a private home setting

Responsibilities

  • Ensure client safety throughout the night, remaining on-site and available for assistance.
  • Provide occasional assistance with toileting , transfers , or mobility as needed.
  • Offer reassurance and companionship if the client wakes up confused or anxious.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations (falls, medical concerns, wandering).
  • Assist with medication reminders (if part of the care plan).
  • Document and report any nighttime disturbances, changes in condition, or concerns to the Care Coordinator.
  • Maintain a clean and safe sleeping environment for the client.
