About The Position

Grace House is a residential recovery home located in Northampton, MA. Grace House is designed to serve 12 mothers and up to 20 children. The identified population is families at serious risk of decompensation and long-term homelessness due to parental Substance Use Disorder (SUD). This population includes women who have custody or will have physical custody of at least one child within 60 days of admission and/or women who are pregnant. Your role as a Recovery Specialist: The Recovery Specialist works within the Agency’s team model, establishing open communication, support, and assists families in need of substance abuse treatment by providing the education and support needed to maintain a life in recovery. As a therapeutic setting, we strive to provide each family with a safe, nurturing environment where mothers and their children can experience success. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: Transfers written and verbal program information to staff and electronically Mediates concerns between residents Coordinate with community organizations to identify and address the needs of the clients Provide intervention and support services Assist clients in achieving success in their role as a parent in active recovery. Ability to maintain professional boundaries. Staff will monitor female clients during urine collection for substance use screening purposes and conduct periodic room checks.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma required, associate’s degree or higher
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years working in the substance use/mental health field.
  • Written and verbal communication skills are critical as is the ability to work with computers.
  • All positions require background screening including a CORI and motor vehicle record check, as well as a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to attend mandatory daytime staff meetings and in-person trainings required.
