About The Position

The Staff Registered Nurses primary responsibility is to provide consistently effective clinical services, behavioral health and physical, to the clients of the Urgent Care Center. This includes the direct provision of psychiatric, medical and pharmacy services; assistance if needed with medical, behavioral health and pharmacy services for the Residential Urgent Diversion Unit; establishing and maintaining effective relations with clients, client families and support people, and with the general community; and maintaining a comfortable, safe, non-institutional ambiance in the program. Services must be provided in a manner that is safe and helpful for clients, staff and the general community, and that evidences a non-institutional character that is congruent with Social Rehabilitation values and principles.

Requirements

  • Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing, and certification as a Registered Nurse with either a specialty in psychiatric nursing or 1 year documented experience providing nursing services in a psychiatric setting.
  • Current valid California licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with medical and mental health staff and other service providers both orally and in writing.
  • Basic word processing skills; maintain computer requirements of the City and County of San Francisco Community Behavioral Health Services.
  • Able to work proficiently on computers and computer-based information systems.
  • Must maintain a valid California drivers license, have own vehicle with private liability insurance, and additionally must be insurable under the agency's current auto insurance policies.
