About The Position

We are currently hiring for an Overnight Pasteurizer at our South Mountain Creamery location in Chambersburg, PA. Our Production Team is vital to creating high-quality farm-fresh products that is distributed to home delivery and wholesale customers alike. This position reports to the Production Manager and is anticipated to work Monday-Friday, 11:30 pm-8:00 am, with some flexibility to help on other shifts as requested by management. Work is performed in a warehouse and refrigerated settings; you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while working safely and efficiently. This position requires the incumbent to lift roughly 50lbs from ground level to waist high using proper lifting techniques. Bending and other physical tasks are required. Requirements

  • The ability to calculate formulas to properly plan and execute product runs
  • Capacity to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating issues that may arise
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The motivation to work in a team environment - safely
  • A detail-oriented mindset
  • Basic math, computation and paperwork completion is required
  • Team members may assist with documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting as required by law and/or regulatory agencies, (i.e. FDA, OSHA, USDA, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operate HTST pasteurizer, homogenizer, skim separator while ensuring pasteurizing procedures are conducted in a safe and controlled environment
  • Finish pasteurizing products and wash pasteurizer
  • Do startup on pasteurizer if necessary
  • Complete end-of-day CIPs in production (in-line circuit washes, such as transfer lines and tanks)
  • Accurately prepare & maintain all Pasteurization documentation
  • Environmental sanitation and cleaning of production equipment
  • Receive milk deliveries
  • Will be trained and certified on sampling and testing milk
  • Assist in other departments, as necessary
