Responsibilities

  • Arrive to work on time, consistently.
  • Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair.
  • Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.
  • Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
  • Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
  • Follow superior standards of appearance and gracious service among service staff.
  • Service the entrance to The Inn. Assure guests are greeted courteously upon arrival, vehicle doors are opened, assisted with luggage, and directed to the front desk.
  • Escort newly-arrived guests to their rooms and attend to their immediate needs.
  • Assure security of guest accommodations by checking doors and windows and advising guests that valuables should be placed in the room safe.
  • Advise Bell Captain or Chief of Service, housekeeping or maintenance of room appearance, condition or maintenance requirements when observed.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to all guest requests.
  • Advise Bell Captain or Chief of Service, Front Desk Manager of unusual guest reactions to service or facilities, whether positive or negative.
  • Provide transportation needs of the guests.
  • Maintain appearance and good operating condition of vans and battery-operated vehicles assigned.
  • Make sure the entrance and driveway directly in front of The Inn always presents a neat & clean appearance.
  • Assist The Inn Shop by moving merchandise between The Inn and Surf Shops as required.
  • Distribute all guest mail, packages, faxes, inter-department and inter-office mail, correspondence and printed material.
  • Assist Sales, Public Relations and Reservations units in stuffing, sorting and processing outgoing mail.
  • In the absence of the Bell Captain, maintain the daily bulletin board at The Inn.
  • Maintain the fireplace in the Great Lounge.
  • Expedite guest inquiries, requests and complaints.
  • Execute the general responsibilities common to all Club management staff in minimizing the costs of unit operations and in safeguarding the property and the reputation of the Club.
  • Make sure a high standard of appearance and politeness among guest contact personnel.
  • Assist the Bell Captain with the training and supervision of new bell staff.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, stay informed of all policies concerning member/guest and personnel relations.
  • Maintain high sanitation and safety standards, training and working daily with Bell Captain.
  • Perform and follow up on any other duties as assigned by the Bell Captain or Front Desk Manager.
