About The Position

The Overnight Maintenance Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the multi-level parking facility during overnight hours. This role ensures the parking deck is fully prepared for morning guest traffic by completing comprehensive cleaning, basic maintenance tasks, safety inspections, and operational support activities. The Overnight Maintenance Porter works independently while also collaborating with overnight security and operations teams to maintain facility standards. Typical overnight shifts will fall between 8:00 PM – 4:00 AM or 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM, based on operational needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a maintenance porter or facility maintenance role within a large-scale or multi-level environment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable working overnight shifts and in outdoor environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nightly cleaning of all parking deck levels, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, debris collection, and sanitation of guest areas.
  • Clean and maintain stairwells, elevators, pedestrian walkways, entry and exit lanes, and employee areas.
  • Operate cleaning and maintenance equipment such as power washers, blowers, floor scrubbers, vacuums, and basic hand tools to maintain facility appearance and cleanliness standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections throughout the shift to identify safety hazards, spills, structural concerns, lighting issues, or equipment malfunctions; take corrective action when appropriate or escalate concerns to management.
  • Perform minor facility repairs including light bulb replacement, tightening fixtures, maintaining signage, and addressing other basic maintenance needs.
  • Ensure all elevators, stairwells, entry lanes, exit gates, and pedestrian pathways remain clear, safe, and operational for morning guest arrival.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, personal protective equipment, and tools; submit restocking requests as needed to support uninterrupted overnight operations.
  • Document maintenance issues, unusual conditions, and completed tasks using nightly logs or digital reporting systems.
  • Coordinate with overnight security personnel by reporting suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or safety concerns to help protect guests, employees, and company property.
  • Provide limited guest assistance after hours, including helping individuals who may experience difficulty exiting the parking facility once gates are closed.
  • Serve as a point of contact for early-morning staff or contractors entering the facility, offering direction and ensuring adherence to site safety procedures.
  • Support overall operational readiness by ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and fully prepared prior to the start of daily aquarium operations.
