About The Position

The position involves repairing and maintaining residential and commercial buildings and their components and equipment. The role requires performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and appliance repair, to meet and exceed established standards. The technician will conduct inspections, respond to emergency calls, and assist in HVAC unit repair projects, among other responsibilities.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License and at least 21 years of age, or 20 years of age with at least two years of licensed driving experience.
• Technical knowledge and experience in residential and commercial heating systems.
• Technical knowledge and experience in electrical wiring and circuit design.
• Technical knowledge and experience in kitchen appliances and HVAC systems.
• Technical knowledge and experience in fire suppression systems and commercial laundry equipment.
• Technical knowledge and experience in motors, pumps, and refrigeration principles.
• Technical knowledge and experience in fasteners, door/window/locks, and protective coatings.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance within the hotel and on the property.
• Conduct corrective service and repair/restoration works as necessary.
• Perform daily technical inspection rounds and checks on equipment and installations.
• Inspect public areas daily for unexpected problems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and general equipment safely.
• Maintain written and/or computerized records of mechanical system status.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls involving all systems and components.
• Highlight matters needing future upgrading work.
• Assist in HVAC unit repair projects.
• Assist in remodeling and construction of new projects.
• Perform Pool/Spa maintenance.
• Keep mechanical areas neat and orderly.
• Manage inventory records of parts, supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and develop effective solutions.
• Communicate with Operations Managers regarding maintenance operations.
• Communicate results of completed tasks and work in progress clearly.
• Demonstrate technical knowledge in various systems and equipment.
• Adhere to OSHA guidelines and standards.
• Monitor and evaluate work-related conditions for compliance.
• Act calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Windows-based operating systems.
• Perform basic mathematical functions.
• Read and comprehend technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Inspect work areas for conformance to standards.
• Communicate effectively in English with guests and staff.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff.
