About The Position

The position involves essential duties and responsibilities that include cleaning all auditoriums, lobby, hallway areas, and restrooms prior to opening for business. The individual will ensure that the janitorial closet is clean and stocked with necessary supplies, use equipment such as vacuums and compactors, and report any facility damage to the General Manager. The role also includes maintaining building security, ensuring non-public areas are secure, and abiding by federal and state laws regarding breaks and meal periods. Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures is required, along with the ability to read and understand training materials covering topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Prior janitorial experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form with management staff
  • Ability to listen effectively, respond clearly and directly, and explain information to others
  • Ability to identify problems, gather relevant data, and note possible causes of problems
  • Ability to evaluate relevant information, recognize alternatives, reach conclusions based on evidence, and implement solutions
  • Ability to perform under pressure and/or opposition with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning all auditoriums prior to opening for business
  • Ensuring all lobby and hallway areas are properly cleaned prior to opening for business
  • Ensuring all restrooms are clean and stocked prior to opening for business
  • Ensuring the janitorial closet area is clean, organized and stocked with needed supplies
  • Using equipment such as vacuums and compactors
  • Reporting any facility damage found to the General Manager
  • Securing and reporting any found items to management
  • Maintaining building security by keeping doors secured and alarm set and disabled as required
  • Ensuring all non-public areas are secure including arming, disarming and general operation of the alarm system
  • Abiding by all federal and state laws with regards to breaks and/or meal periods
  • Having knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures
  • Reading and understanding training materials covering subjects such as sexual harassment and discrimination
