About The Position

The Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within a manufacturing facility. This position ensures that all designated areas, including production floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces, are thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained to support operational efficiency and employee well-being. The janitor will be responsible for routine cleaning tasks as well as responding promptly to any spills or hazards to uphold workplace safety standards. This role contributes directly to the overall appearance and hygiene of the facility, which is essential for compliance with health regulations and fostering a positive work environment. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to meet daily cleaning schedules and special cleaning projects as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly.
• Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
• Experience with floor care equipment such as buffers and scrubbers.
• Basic knowledge of waste disposal and recycling procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal across all assigned areas.
• Sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas to maintain high standards of hygiene.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used safely and stored properly after use.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Assist with special cleaning projects, including floor care, window washing, and deep cleaning tasks as scheduled.
