Position Summary: The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels within the warehouse and ensuring that all products are properly accounted for. This position plays a key role in supporting warehouse operations by performing regular cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and maintaining detailed records to ensure product integrity and compliance with food safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, preferably within a food distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and warehouse management systems (WMS or ERP).
  • Basic understanding of FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) inventory practices.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional departments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in refrigerated and frozen environments as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating electric pallet jack and forklift preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory variances by reviewing transaction histories, warehouse movements, and system data.
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing products are properly scanned, labeled, and recorded in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all inventory-related activities.
  • Assist with inventory adjustments, product recalls, and stock rotations as directed.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, and quality assurance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy.
  • Monitor and report on product shelf life, expiration dates, and damaged goods.
  • Follow and uphold all company policies related to food safety, sanitation, and inventory handling procedures.
  • Support annual physical inventories and audit processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
