About The Position

Vista Veterinary Specialists is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our overnight team! Our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital provides care in internal medicine, critical care, radiology, and cardiology. Our modern facility offers a full in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasonography, on-site CT, and endoscopy. About the Job: As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant in our Emergency/Critical Care department, you will be responsible for: Shifts: 4-10's Sunday - Wednseday, Overnight. Caring for a variety of cases- Emergency and Specialty Medicine. Must be able to prioritize patient hourly treatments and delegate tasks. Triage critical patients, recognize changes in patient status and report to the doctor, educate/update owners on patient status, and discharge patients from the hospital. Assessing hospitalized patients needs and communicating details to the DVM overseeing the case. Inpatient treatments and nursing care throughout the shift. Calculating and administering medication, fluid additives, CRI's Partnering with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures. Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and, free fluid. Placement and maintenance of nasogastric tube, nasal cannula, central venous catheters. Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment. Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events. Surgical assisting for minor (non-specialty) procedures. Our compensation for this role typically falls between $24.00 and $32.00 hourly. Compensation is based on skillset, experience, and licensure. We offer an additional shift differential for grave shifts. About You: A minimum of 2 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting is required. 1 year of ECC experience is preferred. RVT or VTS preferred but not required. Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring. Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques is required Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required. Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment. Passion for providing the highest quality in patient care. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.

Requirements
