The Overnight Houseperson at Fairmont Century Plaza is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the hotel's public areas and back-of-house spaces during overnight hours. This role requires providing exceptional service to guests, assisting with room setups, and ensuring a welcoming environment for both guests and colleagues.

  • Offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Manage the movement of products, equipment, and materials in and out of housekeeping supply rooms.
  • Stock carts and closets with linens, general supplies, and guest supplies essential for cleaning and servicing guest rooms.
  • Collect, remove, and dispose of trash and dirty linens from checked-out rooms and public areas.
  • Clean outside windows, hallways, stairs, balconies, railings, trash rooms, elevator landings, ice machine rooms, storage areas, and closets.
  • Deliver and retrieve items to and from guest rooms.
  • Supply arrival rooms with bathrobes.
  • Assist Supervisor in completing special requests or miscellaneous projects.
  • Clean and keep orderly all assigned public areas.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Sign in and out master keys and radios/mobile electronics daily.
  • Familiarize with hotel technology and communication platforms to ensure hotel operation and guest satisfaction.
  • Return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office.
  • Report necessary maintenance items.
  • Adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Must be willing to work overnight.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or with others.
  • Fluent communication skills in English with guests.
  • Ability to work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset.
  • Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Integrity and ability to work well when supervisors are not present.
  • Ability to manage own time efficiently.
  • Ability to safely handle heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous cleaning or janitorial experience

  • Learning programs through Academies for growth and development.
