About The Position

The Overnight Home Helper at Eir Home Care provides essential non-medical services to seniors, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life in their own homes. This role focuses on companionship, personal care, and assistance with daily living activities, ensuring that clients receive the support they need with dignity and compassion.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds.
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach.
• Complete a criminal background check, DMV check, pre-employment drug screen, and 3 professional/personal reference checks.
• Possess a valid driver's license and valid auto insurance.
• Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mildew, and cleaning solutions.
• Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect.
• Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations.
• Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client's quality of life.
• Document daily activities and report any significant changes in a client's needs or living conditions.
• Maintain regular communication with supervisor and office staff.
• Perform introductions for clients that are meeting new HELPers, only for 24-hour clients.
• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Provide stabilization and assistance with walking.
• Prepare meals and clean up meal-related items.
• Provide medication reminders and appointment reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens.
• Wash and iron laundry.
• Run errands and accompany clients to appointments.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, and toileting/incontinence issues.
• Provide specialized services including advanced Alzheimer's/Dementia care and hospice care.
