About The Position

The Overnight Fresh Dept Quality Control Inspector is responsible for maintaining and implementing a rigid quality control program encompassing all fresh fruits, vegetables, floral, and meat handled in the warehouse. This role works closely with the warehouse and merchandising staff to ensure that quality products are shipped to our retail membership.

Requirements

• Preferable knowledge of fresh fruit, vegetable, and/or meat products handled in a warehouse.
• Knowledge of recommended shipping temperatures for fresh produce and meats.
• Previous experience or knowledge of warehousing operations.
• Ability to learn basic statistical analysis.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• Ability to function independently with little direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and implement a quality control program for fresh fruits, vegetables, floral, and meat.
• Collaborate with warehouse and merchandising staff to ensure quality products are shipped.
• Use proper judgment regarding product acceptability based on changing conditions.
• Communicate effectively with other employees, member staff, and external vendors.
