About The Position

The Tue-Sat 3rd Shift Union Electrician plays a crucial role in ensuring the electrical systems within the CFM's Fort Wayne facility operate efficiently and safely. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment to minimize downtime and enhance productivity. The electrician will work closely with other maintenance personnel to implement preventive maintenance programs and respond to electrical emergencies as they arise. Additionally, the role involves adhering to safety protocols and regulations to create a safe working environment for all employees. Ultimately, the successful candidate will contribute to the overall operational excellence of the facility by ensuring that all electrical systems are functioning optimally.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial electrical work.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and blueprints.
  • The required skills for this position include a strong technical understanding of electrical systems, which will be utilized daily to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Problem-solving skills are essential, as the electrician will frequently encounter unexpected electrical failures that require quick and effective solutions.
  • Attention to detail is critical when performing inspections and maintenance to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Effective communication skills are also important, as the electrician will need to collaborate with team members and report findings to management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and automated systems.
  • Additional certifications in safety or specialized electrical training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions in a timely manner.
