About The Position

Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Full-Time or Part-Time (11pm-9am) | Ocean County, NJ Pay: A base of $20.20/hour and Up to $24.20/hour with a shift differential & overtime availability Schedule: Overnight Shift (Awake) (11pm-9an) — Full-Time or Part-Time, must remain alert throughout scheduled shift (Weekends Required) Provide Comfort, Stability, and Care While the Home Sleeps At The Arc of Ocean County , every member of our team plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and dignity of the individuals we support. Our Overnight Direct Support Professionals provide essential overnight supervision in our group homes, ensuring a secure environment and offering support whenever residents need assistance. This is an ideal role for someone who is calm, responsible, and dedicated to providing consistent, high-quality care during the quietest hours of the day. What You’ll Do As an Overnight DSP, you will provide awake, alert supervision and ensure the home remains safe, clean, and comfortable throughout the night:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License with no more than 5 points
  • Comfortable working independently and handling emergency situations with sound judgment and ability to lift/move 50 lbs, assist individuals with mobility, and perform cleaning/household tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Remain awake and alert during the entire shift
  • Complete hourly phone checks through the automated time and attendance system
  • Monitor and attend to residents’ needs at any time during the night
  • Support morning routines to ensure individuals are awake, groomed, and prepared for their day
  • Maintain a home-like, safe, and secure environment , including performing assigned cleaning tasks
  • Ensure the home and furnishings remain in good condition; report maintenance needs promptly
  • Provide direct support with laundry, hygiene, grooming, cooking, cleaning , and other daily living skills
  • Administer medications as required and follow all health, dietary, behavioral, and adaptive equipment plans
  • Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention when necessary
  • Complete all required documentation, including daily logs, communication notes, medical records, and tracking forms
  • Know and follow each resident’s Individual Habilitation Plan , including implementing goals and documenting progress
  • Protect residents’ rights, dignity, privacy, and personal choices
